These letters were published in The Lovell Chronicle in the early 90's and are about my experiences adjusting to life in New Orleans, which was the polar opposite of Wyoming. There is a joke in the industry that New Orleans is the closest you can get to a foreign assignment, without actually leaving the US. I know I had a great time writing these Letters Home and making that adjustment to New Orleans. When we moved in 2003, it wasn't easy to leave the Big Easy and the friends we made during our years there. Since we left, I've realized that you can leave New Orleans, but it never leaves you. Les Bon Temps Rouler! (Let the Good times roll!)

Post-Katrina note: I've spent the time since Katrina, waiting to hear from friends and coming to terms with knowledge that the city we came to love, and called home for 18 years, is gone. Because I know the people who live there, I know New Orleans will be back. It will probably be smaller, and a bit sadder, but its come back from tragedy before. Don't count her out yet!
